Exam Season in Philadelphia: Milestones and Enormous Hurdles

The success of our school is especially evident when it counts: during the national final exams. What sounds like a given to us involves immense bureaucratic and financial effort in Uganda.
Why are these exams so significant?
· Recognition & Reputation: Philadelphia School ranked as the second-best school in the district. Because we are authorized to conduct exams on-site, this success is officially credited to our school.
· Growth: A strong reputation attracts more paying parents, which secures the long-term financial foundation for our orphans.
· Future Opportunities: We are currently preparing 70 candidates for S4 (O-Level) and 18 candidates for S6 (A-Level).
· High State Hurdles: Strict government regulations demand precise laboratory equipment with specific reagents and materials. For the upcoming final exams, we must currently provide proof of, among other things, two light microscopes.
· Financial Demands: To cover these requirements in the short term, a loan of €1,500 has already been taken out. By September, an additional €1,500 is needed to upgrade the laboratory to the level required for the high school diploma.
Call for Donations: The strict state requirements help us to continuously improve our quality. Support us in purchasing vital materials for scientific experiments, microscopes, and PCs so that our 88 candidates can take their exams directly on-site.
